In recent years, much of the arguments on social media have been good representations of the political discourse of the entire country. With the advent of social media, it's not uncommon to hear people say things that they would never say to someone's face. VitalSmarts created a poster, which I found on Pinterest, that showcases how social media isn't really the safe space for reasonable dialogue amongst users. When you're in a conversation face-to-face, you're often able to receive real emotions, logic, and honesty from the person you're talking to. Online, it's much more difficult to see the motives of the person, or what he actually meant to say. As a result, heated, never-ending debates online may pursue online for quite a while.
