What is it that makes face-to-face communication so valuable? When I think of face-to-face communication's impact, I think of the strong relationships that I'm able to build with others. Everyone has a different reason why face-to-face communication is so special to them. They're benefits that you could never receive from interacting on a computer screen. For this blog post, I'm presenting two articles that help answer why face-to-face communication is a better option over communication via digital technology.

Fresh Books' article discusses the power that face-to-face communication has on people's lives and what makes it so effective. Five of the biggest reasons that the article includes are that it builds trust, reveals hidden messages, more reflective of you, makes you more likable, and makes your communication more influential. All of the major points are addressed and you get a better sense of what makes face-to-face communication so important.

David Grossman does an excellent job at explaining why face-to-face communication is best option to use as a leader, listing six reasons on his website The Grossman Group. Grossman goes over many of the ideas that Fresh Books uses (enhances credibility and trust, interpret thoughts and feelings). Grossman's article also shows how this form of communication demonstrates importance, builds relationships, allows stronger feedback, and shows respect to employees and/or coworkers. Even though this article is directed at business leaders, the reasons that Grossman provides can apply to anyone with any occupation.
